Powering the world with clean, renewable energy

Bom Futuro began operating in the energy sector in 2007, with the aim of contributing to the supply of clean and renewable electrical energy, improving the infrastructure and quality of available energy, promoting sustainable development and growth and improving people's quality of life.

We operate in all phases of the project, from the initial phase of studies and inventories of rivers and potential energy sources, development and licensing of projects, construction and implementation of generating plants, as well as in their monitoring, operation and maintenance.

In a slow, regulated and challenging scenario, we move forward, carrying out our purpose of DRIVING the world! Currently, there are 12 hydropower plants and 03 photovoltaic plants in operation, all located in the State of Mato Grosso, which annually produce more than 1 million MWh of clean and renewable energy, enough to supply the consumption of more than 1.3 million inhabitants.

Market Monitoring within the scope of CCEE

HPPs

Hydropower Plants (HPPs) are facilities designed to generate electrical energy by harnessing the hydraulic potential of small watercourses, with an installed capacity of up to 5MW.

SHPs

Small Hydropower Plants (SHPs) are designed to generate electric power with an installed capacity of 5 to 30 MW.

PPSs

Photovoltaic Power Stations (PPSs) are designed to generate electrical energy through solar conversion.

We operate in total synergy with our agribusiness segment, since approximately 10% of the energy generated in our plants is used to supply 100% of the group's agro-industrial units through the Distributed Generation (DG) system. The surplus is injected into the grid through the National Interconnected System (SIN), helping to boost the economy and bring comfort to our homes.

The energy generation sources we use at Bom Futuro are complementary to each other. Solar energy has been used by the company on a small scale in several facilities for several years, but larger-scale and concentrated use began in 2022, with the acquisition of solar parks.

ENERGY GENERATION

Our energy is produced through water sources, through small hydroelectric plants (SHPs) and hydroelectric generating plants (HPPs), taking advantage of the topography and the potential for falling rivers, generating renewable energy in a sustainable way.

We also produce energy from solar sources, through photovoltaic power station (PPSs), in the same way, generating clean and renewable energy.

After being generated in power plants, the energy needs to be transported through transmission networks and then transformed into consumption voltage in substations, to then be distributed to our homes and businesses.

We have a total installed capacity of 163.95 MW in electric power and 11.6 MWp in photovoltaic power.

The first leap in generation took place in 2020, when we completed the construction of our first SPP called SPP JUI-117, with an installed capacity of 25MW. At the end of 2022, with the acquisition of Hydria, which owns the complex of 5 SPPs located on the Juruena River, we consolidated the energy segment as an important activity in Bom Futuro's diversified portfolio.

Certifications

I-Rec

I-REC (Instituto Totum) is a global renewable energy attribute tracking system designed to facilitate reliable accounting of renewable MWh that has been attributed to a given consumer, for Scope 2, compliant with various international standards. I-REC(e) enables all electricity consumers to make an informed choice.

Green Seal - (Instituto Chico Mendes)

The Green Seal - (Instituto Chico Mendes) is a socio-environmental certification granted to public and private institutions that seek sustainability in all their businesses. Created and granted by Instituto Chico Mendes, the Green Seal is part of the Certification Program for the Commitment to Social and Environmental Responsibility (PROCERT). According to the Institute itself, the seal is attributed to “institutions that seek sustainability in all their businesses and that prove to their partners that they apply solutions that encompass the environmental, social and economic environment in their actions, management or products”.

ISO 14001

Bom Futuro Energia was certified in 2022 with ISO 14001, which is an international standard for environmental management systems (EMS). By adopting these certifications, such as ISO 14001, organizations demonstrate their commitment to protecting the environment, reducing waste, using natural resources efficiently and preventing pollution.

Green Seal - SEMA/MT

More recently, in 2023, we also received the “Green Seal” certification granted by the State Secretariat for the Environment of the state of Mato Grosso (SEMA/MT), consolidating all the practices and commitments adopted by the company.
