Training Program Offers Heavy Equipment Maintenance Opportunities for Young People in Matupá
Bom Futuro and SENAI partnership targets candidates aged 18 to 21; applications are open until November 13

Young people aged 18 to 21 can apply by November 13 for a technical apprenticeship in heavy equipment maintenance in Matupá, Mato Grosso. The program is open to candidates who have completed or are currently in their final year of high school, offering professional training in a field closely linked to agricultural operations.

The initiative is part of Bom Futuro’s Aprendiz do Futuro (Future Apprentice) program, developed in partnership with Brazil’s National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI). The program combines professional training with preparation for the job market, connecting technical learning with the demands of a field that requires specialized knowledge of machinery and equipment.

Heavy equipment maintenance is essential to agricultural operations, which rely on the performance and availability of machinery used in the field. In this context, technical training helps prepare professionals for work that requires specialized knowledge and the ability to identify and troubleshoot equipment issues.

Thaís Cabral’s experience illustrates how an apprenticeship can contribute to professional development. She joined the program’s first cohort in this field in 2021 at Fazenda Filadélfia, in Campo Verde (MT). After completing the theoretical and practical training stages, Thaís continued her career at the company and now works as an Agricultural Maintenance Planning and Control (PCM) Analyst.

“What set this experience apart from other jobs, in my view, was how they prepared us for the job market and for becoming part of the company, with the possibility of being hired permanently. I was truly an apprentice and learned everything I needed to do. I completed the theoretical training and then moved on to the practical stage,” she says.

According to Thaís, the welcome she received at the farm and the guidance provided by her supervisor also contributed to her experience, helping her get to know the team and identify the activities that best matched her interests and strengths. Looking back, she says she would make the same choice again.

“I would definitely recommend it. If I could go back, I would do it again because it was a very valuable experience and the right choice for my life. I was able to develop my skills further because of this opportunity and the Aprendiz do Futuro program,” she says.

For Roselina Camarão, Social Responsibility Coordinator at Bom Futuro, initiatives like this help expand young people’s access to professional training and create opportunities for development.

“Investing in young people’s training also means helping them access new opportunities and build their own career paths. Through technical apprenticeships, we aim to encourage the development of knowledge and skills that can improve their chances of entering the job market and strengthen their professional development,” she says.

To apply, candidates must be between 18 and 21 years old and have completed or be currently enrolled in their final year of high school. Male applicants must also provide a military service certificate. Applications must be submitted through the recruitment link by November 13.
