Student competition promotes awareness on preventing violence against women with support from Bom Futuro
Initiative by the Mato Grosso Public Prosecutor’s Office invites public high school students in Cuiabá to produce videos on the issue; Bom Futuro will provide prizes for the winners

Public high school students in Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, will produce social media videos focused on preventing and addressing violence against women. The cultural competition “Oh, Lá em Casa (Nem Lá em Casa)” marks a new stage of the FloreSer Project, developed by the Mato Grosso Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPMT), with support from Bom Futuro in providing prizes for the winners.

Launched on Tuesday (25), the initiative brings topics already being discussed with teenagers in schools into audiovisual production, including relationships, gender inequality, respect for women’s rights and the prevention of violence. Videos may be produced for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

Since August 2025, FloreSer has reached 2,545 students through 78 discussion sessions held at 15 schools in Cuiabá and Várzea Grande. Now, in addition to taking part in classroom discussions, students will be encouraged to bring the conversation to social media through their own content.

“We will work with these same high school students in Cuiabá, who will produce content to compete for the prizes. The first stage of registration will run through September 30. After that, a technical jury will evaluate the videos and select 12 semifinalists, who will then advance to a public vote,” said prosecutor Claire Vogel Dutra, coordinator of Espaço Caliandra.

Bom Futuro is supporting the awards alongside Gazin by donating smartphones, laptops and tablets to the three highest-ranking teams in the competition.

According to Leonardo Rossato, Bom Futuro’s Shared Services Director, supporting the project is a way to help bring this important discussion to younger generations.

“Bom Futuro could not stay on the sidelines. We wanted to be a partner in this initiative, just as we have been in promoting dialogue with society, because we understand the importance of raising awareness among young people about caring for others, respecting women and protecting those who are most vulnerable. Bom Futuro joined this initiative by the Public Prosecutor’s Office because we believe it can help drive positive change and build a better society,” Rossato said.

Teams may include up to three students. Registration and video submissions will remain open through September 30 via the Observatório Caliandra platform.(https://caliandra.mpmt.mp.br/projeto-floreser)

After submissions close, a technical jury will evaluate the entries and select 12 semifinalists. The chosen videos will then advance to a public vote, which will determine the three winners. In addition to prizes for students, the schools represented by the winning teams may receive energy-efficiency projects developed by Energisa Mato Grosso, subject to feasibility criteria.

By bringing the issue into a format that is part of students’ everyday lives, the competition seeks to broaden the reach of discussions that began in schools and encourage young people themselves to take an active role in preventing violence against women.
