Bom Futuro initiative earns second place in the Sustainable Innovations category at an award promoted by CREA-MT

The SEPARÔ Program, Bom Futuro’s responsible waste management pillar, stood out at the first edition of the Arara Award: Sustainable Initiatives, promoted by the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy of Mato Grosso (CREA-MT). The awards ceremony took place in early December and brought together professionals, companies, and organizations engaged in environmental conservation, natural resource recovery, and sustainable innovation across the state.

In the Sustainable Innovations category, SEPARÔ secured second place, a recognition that highlights the initiative’s relevance in developing practical solutions for solid waste management. In 2025, the program properly disposed of 8.7 million kilograms of waste, generating approximately R$2.7 million in resources reinvested in socio-environmental actions.

According to Elaine Casturina, Bom Futuro’s environmental manager, the recognition validates the company’s sustainability efforts. “Considering the relevance of the Regional Council of Engineering and Agronomy, which regulates all engineering fields in the state of Mato Grosso, this award is highly significant to us. Given the institution’s credibility, it confirms that we are on the right path,” she said.

Created more than 15 years ago, the SEPARÔ Program is a cornerstone of the company’s commitment to socio-environmental development and responsible waste management. The initiative operates across all company units, focusing on the separation, collection, and proper disposal of recyclable and hazardous waste, while also promoting continuous environmental education initiatives for employees and their families.

CREA-MT President Juares Samaniego said the program sets an example for other companies. “It is an innovative program with a positive environmental impact that should be adopted by companies across various sectors,” the engineer stated.

Funds generated from the proper disposal of recyclable materials finance a range of initiatives focused on environmental education, social development, culture, sports, and leisure at Bom Futuro. These actions range from building playgrounds for children to distributing school kits through the “Seeds of the Future” program.

The CREA Award

Launched in 2025, the Arara Award aims to recognize and value projects that promote sustainable practices and environmental innovation in Mato Grosso. For Bom Futuro, the recognition granted by CREA-MT reinforces the company’s commitment to a development model aligned with contemporary environmental demands and focused on generating positive impacts for society.
