The Mato Grosso Symphony Orchestra (OSMT) launched its inaugural season in 2026, with a program featuring major symphonic concerts, chamber music and initiatives that bring orchestral music to schools and public spaces. The initiative is sponsored and supported by Bom Futuro and marks a new chapter in the work developed by Instituto Ciranda.

OSMT builds on a decade-long legacy established by the CirandaMundo Orchestra. In this new phase, its program combines works by renowned composers with Brazilian and Mato Grosso music, bringing concert music to broader audiences while creating space for the state’s cultural identity.

The 2026 Season is organized into three series. The Cerrado Series features the season’s major symphonic concerts, while the Amazon Series presents smaller orchestra ensembles in chamber music performances. The Araguaia Series highlights Brazilian music through concerts that bring popular and classical repertoires together.

One of the season’s highlights took place in September, during a Cerrado Series concert that marked conductor Murilo Alves’ debut with OSMT following a period of study in France. Bom Futuro attended the event and received recognition for its support of the orchestra.

According to Roselina Camarão, Social Responsibility Coordinator at Bom Futuro, supporting the initiative broadens the company’s engagement with local communities and contributes to the appreciation of Mato Grosso’s cultural production.

“When we talk about caring for everything and everyone around us, that also includes culture, education and opportunities for people. Supporting the Orchestra helps expand access to music while also celebrating Mato Grosso’s culture and talent,” she says.

OSMT’s activities also extend beyond concert halls. Through the Sinfonia Aberta program, the Orchestra holds educational concerts in public schools, introducing students to orchestral music. The Na Estrada program, meanwhile, brings free performances to public squares and other community spaces, with a repertoire that celebrates Brazilian and Mato Grosso culture.

In November, Na Estrada is scheduled to visit Sinop, Sorriso and Lucas do Rio Verde, expanding the Orchestra’s presence across the interior of Mato Grosso.

“When these performances reach schools, public squares and cities in the interior, more people have the opportunity to experience cultural activities that may not otherwise be part of their daily lives. This reach, and the possibility of leaving a lasting impact on communities, is what makes initiatives like this so important,” Roselina adds.

Bom Futuro’s support for the 2026 Season of the Mato Grosso Symphony Orchestra is part of the company’s Social Responsibility initiatives focused on culture and community development, helping broaden access to the arts and strengthen Mato Grosso’s cultural identity.
