At Bom Futuro, we take pride in being at the forefront of crop-livestock integration, with 42,000 of our 320,000 hectares already adopting this system.
With 35 producing farms in Mato Grosso, we operate in various sectors including agriculture, livestock, seeds, and energy, and we stand out for our ability to harvest up to three crops a year. Depending on the year, we alternate between cultivating soy, corn, cotton, and forage species, maximizing the productivity of our areas.
In São José do Rio Claro, our Agromar farm implements the crop-livestock integration, allowing for the simultaneous cultivation of crops and pastures in the same area. In this system, we grow soy followed by corn, and in the third harvest, we plant forage crops that ensure quality feed for our beef cattle.
This approach brings numerous benefits: in addition to reducing operational costs, it increases soil fertility and accelerates the recovery of degraded areas. The result is a significant improvement in our profitability.
"We produce more on the same area. It's a more sustainable system. The pasture enhances the fertility and permeability of the soil for soy, prevents erosion, and increases profitability since the cattle gain one kilogram a day when they feed on this pasture," explains Nahzir Oke, our Partnerships Manager.
With a firm commitment to sustainability and innovation, we continue to expand our practices, consolidating Bom Futuro as a reference in the agricultural sector, both in agriculture and in livestock and energy.
