Inauguration of the Luzia Maggi Scheffer Executive Aviation Terminal puts Mato Grosso firmly on the map of the aviation sector

24/06/2025

During the Bom Futuro Aviation Experience held in Cuiabá on May 30 and 31, which brought together the leading brands and manufacturers in the executive aviation segment, the new Luzia Maggi Scheffer Executive Aviation Terminal was inaugurated. Considered the most modern facility of its kind in the Central-West region of Brazil, the event also celebrated the 43rd anniversary of Bom Futuro’s founding and welcomed business leaders, clients, and political figures from state and federal levels.

For Bom Futuro’s Executive Director, Kleverson Scheffer, the inauguration represents the fulfillment of a long-term vision focused on the future needs of executive aviation. “This terminal represents the consolidation of what Bom Futuro is all about: coming to Mato Grosso, to the Central-West, to agribusiness, to Brazil—to produce and help feed and clothe the world. We've seen the need to improve this structure for years. We envisioned it five years ago, started execution two years ago, and it’s designed with the future in mind—ready for expansion and new opportunities. It’s a solid business, and we believe it has significant growth potential,” he explained.

The Governor of Mato Grosso, Mauro Mendes, attended the Aviation Experience and the terminal’s inauguration and praised the new facility as a key driver for regional development. “Air transport is essential because major companies, executives, and all kinds of transportation rely on this mode and increasingly require solid infrastructure. This Bom Futuro airport is spectacular—modern, efficient, and strategically located near the main decision-making centers in the state capital. I’m confident it will be a major contributor to the development of the Cuiabá region and the entire state of Mato Grosso,” he stated.

With its modern infrastructure, comfort, and exclusive services, Brazil’s Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, emphasized that the terminal places Mato Grosso ahead of other developing regions—offering an extra advantage for attracting investors. “Mato Grosso’s strength and vitality are reflected in this bold project, which represents the state’s future. It’s ready to welcome entrepreneurs and investors. A state that has moved beyond a primary sector economy through agro-industrialization. A terminal like this becomes the gateway for businesspeople to come, hold meetings and negotiations, and quickly return to their home states. And surely, with a terminal like this, investments will stay here,” he said.

Approximately R$20 million were invested in the Luzia Maggi Scheffer Executive Aviation Terminal, delivering a modern facility that offers premium comfort and exclusivity to both passengers and crew. Key features include a VIP lounge with covered parking, electric vehicle charging stations, a café, a conference room, a kids' playroom, a meeting room, a crew lounge, a rest area, a game room, private rooms, a gym, a movie theater, and dressing rooms. All environments are designed to combine privacy and functionality, offering a unique experience to travelers and aviation professionals.

The first and largest executive airport in Brazil’s Central-West, inaugurated in 2011, handles an average of 6,000 flights and 20,000 passengers annually. Located just 10 minutes from the Political and Administrative Center of Cuiabá, the airport features a 1,557-meter-long, 30-meter-wide runway, capable of accommodating a wide range of aircraft sizes.
