Future Apprentice Program assists adolescents and young people in entering the job market

22/12/2023

Professional learning can be the entry point for adolescents or young people into the job market, monitored by mentors and in compliance with current educational legislation. Bom Futuro invests in youth through the Future Apprentice program, which currently serves 240 young people and adolescents in its production units and headquarters in Cuiabá. In recent years, over 800 individuals have been included through the program.

For the technical learning program, the company has partnered with training entities such as the National Service of Industry (Senai MT), the National Rural Learning Service (Senar MT), and the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso (IFMT). Young people aged 17 to 23 are trained in courses including Automotive Maintenance, Agricultural Machinery, Administration, Systems Development, and Agricultural Technical Studies.

Individuals like Jully Gabrielly Paixão da Silva, 23, who was a student in the first class of Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician in 2021 at the Senai unit in Várzea Grande, exemplify the program. “We had a year of classes every day, eight hours a day, with theoretical and practical content. After that, I had ten months of work in the company, and I was placed in the agricultural mechanization sector,” she recounts.

Currently, Jully is an Agricultural Maintenance Planning and Control (PCM) Assistant. “I didn’t know the company, but I was interested in the program. After completing it, I was soon hired and I’m really enjoying the experience. I learn every day, I’m evolving, and I feel well accepted here,” says the employee.

Following the partnership with Senai and Senar MT since 2021, offering courses in Rondonópolis, Várzea Grande, Sapezal, Nova Mutum, Sinop, Campo Verde, and Cuiabá, Bom Futuro joined IFMT in early 2023 in a pilot project with the Serra de São Vicente campus, aiming to further strengthen professional training for the agricultural sector.

In addition to technical learning, Bom Futuro collaborates with the Business School Integration Center (CIEE), Cristo Servo Association, Lar Maria de Lourdes Association, and Bradesco Foundation to provide administrative training for apprentices aged 14 to 18.

“Professional learning fundamentally aims to socially empower and qualify young people by offering the necessary knowledge for their professional engagement, equipping and preparing them to become more financially independent, responsible, and professionally mature. More than just a career, we seek to provide opportunity and dignity to these young people,” asserts Tiago Goecks, Human Resources, Communication and Marketing, and Social Responsibility Manager.

Bom Futuro has also sought to include adolescents in situations of vulnerability and social risk. Since 2019, the company has entered into partnerships with entities, agencies, and public institutions that opened their doors for these young individuals to carry out their activities within their premises, a model known as “social quota.”

Partners of Bom Futuro include the Regional Labor Court (TRT MT), Regional Labor Superintendence, Regional Electoral Court (TER MT), State Secretariat for the Environment (Sema MT), Cultural Sports Institute (IDC), Immigrant Pastoral Center, Mato Grosso Cancer Hospital (HCanMT), Sapezal City Hall, Sapezal APAE, Farmun, Ciranda Institute, and Bom Jesus Shelter.
