The São João Batista Municipal Hospital, in Diamantino (MT), received 467 hospital linen items produced by a Bom Futuro social project. The donation, delivered in February, included bed sheets, surgical drapes, and blankets for the maternity ward, medical clinic, and surgical center. The hospital serves patients from the municipality and surrounding cities.
The donation was made through the Costurando Bem project, an initiative launched by the company in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when Bom Futuro began producing cloth masks to meet urgent community needs. Over time, the project expanded to manufacture hospital linens, uniforms for the Sementes do Futuro program — an initiative for employees’ children — and bed sheets for nursing homes and shelters.
Adélia Maria, Diamantino’s Municipal Health Secretary, emphasized the importance of the donation for patient care. “These materials are essential for the hospital, as we have a high demand for care, surgeries, and births. Starting the year receiving linen of this quality will make a significant difference in the services provided to our population,” she said.
Since its creation, the initiative has produced and distributed 15,824 items to hospitals, institutions, and social projects. Among the donations are 6,850 pieces for the Mato Grosso Cancer Hospital, 3,000 for Santa Marcelina Hospital (currently in production), 2,000 for the State Court of Justice, 1,900 for Santa Helena Hospital, as well as 1,220 items for the Sementes do Futuro program, 704 for the Cuiabá office, and 150 for volunteers.
Bom Futuro’s Social Responsibility Coordinator, Roselina Camarão, highlighted that the initiative began as an emergency action and has since become a permanent support project for communities. “The program started with mask production and gradually expanded. Today, in addition to hospital linens, we also produce uniforms and other materials. It is very rewarding for us to contribute to hospitals and support the communities where we operate,” she said.
