The cotton harvest is nearly complete at Bom Futuro. After harvesting over 159,000 hectares, the processing of the cotton fiber is at about 90% of the total. There are nine Cotton Processing Industries (IBAs) operating in various regions of Mato Grosso to complete the process by the end of December.
“We had a great cotton harvest, and the cotton gins had to operate at high availability. We achieved an average production of 12,000 bales per day in total, and next year, we already expect to improve this number,” explains Cláudio Fonseca, manager of Bom Futuro's IBAs.
The company's expectation is that the harvest will exceed 1.5 million bales of cotton fiber, with a yield above 41.1%, according to the manager.
Cotton processing is complete at the IBAs Vale, Cocal, and Malu (100%), at Bom Futuro and Filadélfia it is at 99%, at Vovô Ernesto it is at 91%, at IBAs Colorado and Santa Luzia it is at 88%, and at IBA Sapezal, the processing is at 87% of the total.
