On April 23, 2025, a hands-on training session was held at Filadélfia Farm to implement a composting system. The activity brought together employees from the regional operational and environmental teams, focusing on the proper disposal of organic waste generated in the cafeteria and residential areas of the unit.
The method adopted — windrow composting with passive aeration — is environmentally sound, legally recognized, and enables the transformation of organic waste into a nutrient-rich compost. This compost can be used in the farm’s own agricultural activities, promoting a virtuous cycle of material reuse.
This initiative is part of Bom Futuro’s sustainability guidelines and strengthens the application of circular economy principles by turning waste into resources, reducing environmental impact, and adding value to rural production.
