Employees from Bom Futuro volunteered in six cities in Mato Grosso on Saturday (August 26), raising funds directly for the Hospital de Câncer de Mato Grosso (HcanMT).
On this special day, volunteers from Bom Futuro managed to sell more than 2,700 promotional t-shirts, contributing to the nationwide McDia Feliz event, which mobilizes partners to raise funds for institutions that treat pediatric cancer.
“This project is very important to us because we are assisting HcanMT in providing care for so many young people and children. Our purpose is to sell t-shirts, raise funds, and help improve their situation,” said Eduardo Fonseca, Bom Futuro’s regional manager, during the event in Nova Mutum.
The volunteer activities took place in several locations, including Cuiabá, Campos de Júlio, Matupá, Campo Verde, and Sapezal. Psychologist Eliane Figueiredo, a Bom Futuro employee in Sapezal, expressed happiness with the results. “We made many sales, and there’s a strong demand with volunteers involved in various cities,” she noted.
Some employees participated in this volunteer initiative for the first time, like Paulo Cardoso from Nova Mutum, who shared, “Anyone who has had a family member with this disease knows how difficult it is. In tough times, we see who our true friends are. So, even though it may seem like a small effort, it really matters.”
Fagner Adolfo, also a Bom Futuro employee in Nova Mutum, stated that the experience was rewarding. “By helping others, you help yourself. This is my first time participating, and it has already left a mark on my heart,” he said.
Bom Futuro has partnered with HcanMT for 12 years. In addition to the sales from McDia Feliz, employees purchased 6,000 promotional t-shirts and tickets for Big Macs.
McDia Feliz is an initiative by the Ronald McDonald Institute, where the revenue from Big Mac sales is redirected to around 60 institutions combating pediatric cancer across the country.
