The adoption of an advanced cattle traceability system, based on individual animal identification through technology unprecedented in Brazil, has strengthened sanitary control and expanded the international reach of beef produced by Bom Futuro in highly demanding markets. The system uses electronic ear tags that combine an authentication chip and a barcode in a single device, allowing greater accuracy in the recording of sanitary, management and movement data.
The certification model combines the use of SISBOV and IDBOV, ensuring full traceability of the herd from origin to final destination. More than 150,000 head of cattle are currently identified under this model, reinforcing the reliability of audited data and the level of transparency required by the international market.
With this level of traceability, a total of nine farms are approved for exports to the European Union, the United States and China, meeting strict protocols related to animal health, animal welfare and production control.
The maintenance of these approvals is ensured through audits conducted every three months by an independent certification body, responsible for verifying compliance with the standards required by importing countries. In addition, every three years the processes undergo an audit by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), reaffirming the robustness and importance of the entire system.
Advances in control and traceability have also led to an unprecedented milestone in Mato Grosso. Bom Futuro became the first company in the state to obtain MAPA-audited and approved certification for the export of female cattle to the European Union, expanding its international market opportunities and further strengthening the credibility of the adopted model.
