Soybeans are one of the greatest symbols of Brazil’s agricultural development — a crop that represents productivity, innovation, and sustainability.
In a special report, Revista Globo Rural retraces the journey of this grain, which has become the country’s main crop and the most exported agricultural product from Brazil.
According to the article, national soybean production jumped from 9.9 million tons in the 1974/75 harvest to 171.5 million tons in 2024/25. Since the 2019/20 season, Brazil has held the global leadership in soybean production, ahead of the United States.
We, at Bom Futuro, are proud to be part of this story. Our journey began more than four decades ago, when the Maggi Scheffer family arrived in Mato Grosso in search of new opportunities, believing in the potential of soybeans as a driver of growth and transformation.
Since then, we have grown alongside Brazilian agriculture. Today, we are thousands of people working side by side, cultivating over 700,000 hectares with responsibility and technology. In soybeans alone, we achieve an average yield of 68 bags per hectare — the result of continuous investment in research, innovation, and sustainable practices.
We adopt systems such as no-till farming, precision agriculture, and the use of bio-inputs, and we hold the RTRS (Round Table on Responsible Soy) certification, which recognizes responsible production in deforestation-free areas.
These initiatives reflect our commitment to a modern, sustainable agribusiness that is truly connected to the future.
